Vigil by IOanyT ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Name, email address, company name, and phone number (via contact forms)
  • AWS account information and infrastructure details (when you become a client)
  • Usage data and analytics (via cookies and similar technologies)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and improve our services
  • Respond to your inquiries and schedule demos
  • Monitor and secure your infrastructure (for clients)
  • Send service updates and marketing communications (with your consent)

Website Analytics and Cookies

We run our own analytics on vigilcloud.io and docs.vigilcloud.io. The script is served from collect.vigilcloud.io, a domain we own and host ourselves — there is no third-party analytics vendor, and this data is not shared with one.

By continuing to use this website you consent to this collection, and it begins on your first visit. If you would rather it did not, see Opting out below — once you opt out, nothing further is collected.

What we record:

  • The pages you view and how long each page holds your attention
  • Your browser, operating system and device type
  • Your approximate city, derived from your IP address
  • If you arrived from one of our marketing emails, the above is linked to the email address that message was sent to. Visitors who do not arrive from one of our emails are not identified in this way.

This uses five first-party cookies on .vigilcloud.io, shared across both sites:

  • vg_c — whether you consented or opted out. Set either way, and kept for 180 days.
  • vg_t — the email send you arrived from. Not written if you have opted out, and kept for 180 days.
  • vg_s — a session identifier. Not written if you have opted out, and kept for 1 day.
  • vg_v — a random identifier for your browser, sent with each analytics event so that repeat visits are recognised as the same visitor rather than as new ones. It contains no personal information itself. Not written if you have opted out, and kept for 180 days.
  • vg_cid — a second random identifier, used to link a browser to a contact record if you later identify yourself to us. It contains no personal information itself. Not written if you have opted out, and kept for 180 days.

Identifiers passed in links. When you click a link that leads away from this site, the random visitor identifier described above (vg_v) is added to the link address. Between our own websites this is what lets your visit be recognised as one journey rather than two separate visitors, and the identifier is removed from the address bar when you arrive. It is also added to links to websites we do not own, which means the identifier may appear in that website’s own records; it is a random value that identifies a browser, not a name or an email address. The vg_t identifier, which corresponds to an email address, is never passed to a website we do not own. Links carrying a security signature are left unaltered.

Retention. Analytics records collected this way are kept for 180 days and then deleted.

Opting out. Email privacy@vigilcloud.io and we will opt you out and delete the analytics data already held about you. You can also stop it yourself in your browser: block cookies for vigilcloud.io, or delete the vg_c, vg_t, vg_s, vg_v and vg_cid cookies for vigilcloud.io and then set vg_c to 0 — collection stops immediately and does not resume. Most browsers’ “do not track” and tracker-blocking settings also prevent it.

Separately from the above, this site uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to measure traffic and site usage.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption, access controls, and regular security audits. All infrastructure monitoring data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with trusted service providers who help us operate our business (e.g., AWS for hosting), but only to the extent necessary to provide our services.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Request a copy of your data
